Database Migration

Database migration of large live databases requires a set of specialized skills. Sigma has extensive experience in managing large scale data migration projects for large enterprise customers. Sigma has experience in data migration, management of large databases, reverse engineering required to figure out database schemas and expertise in different databases all of which come handy in a database migration project.

As with most legacy applications documentation is non-existent or incomplete. Database migration at times requires reverse engineering to study the existing schemas - upto the field level, creating documents to plug missing information and adequately validate information through multiple methods before it is assumed correct. After the migration sufficient testing is required to do ensure customer impact is kept at a minimum. Sigma has successfully done this and migrated large databases with no functionality impact to end users.
